It contains the phytochemicals "azulenes", compounds which are proven to have powerful anti-inflammatory activity. It is also touted for its anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory benefits.
The taste of wormwood in tea is often described as intensely bitter and herbaceous. Wormwood, scientifically known as Artemisia absinthium, contains compounds like thujone, which contribute to its characteristic bitter flavor. It is recommended to blend with other teas to counteract the bitter taste, as well as adding honey as a sweetener.
